A promising yearling with proven sport genes

Vendetta of OakHill is an appealing yearling with an impressive sport-oriented pedigree. With Caracas × Harley VDL × Burggraaf, three generations of proven jumping ability come together. A combination of international top sport blood, power, technique, reflexes, and a strong attitude.

Sire Caracas developed under Jos Verlooy into a horse of the highest international level. The striking white stallion combined an enormous work ethic and willpower with exceptional jumping qualities. He achieved impressive victories, among others, in the CSI5 Grand Prix of Rotterdam and Ascona, finished second in the FEI World Cup of Mechelen, and second in the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Mexico. In addition, he represented Belgium multiple times in the FEI Nations Cup and contributed to the victory in the Nations Cup Final of Barcelona.

Caracas is a son of the legendary Casall Ask, one of the most influential jumping stallions of his generation. Casall Ask achieved numerous major victories under Rolf Goran Bengtsson and proved himself at Olympic Games, European Championships, World Championships, and the Global Champions Tour. On the dam side of Caracas, we find the Holsteiner mare Colthaga (Colman × Barnaul), who herself competed at 1.60 m-niveau. A dam line that also features multiple international showjumpers.

On the dam side of Vendetta, we once again find a proven sire of stature: Harley VDL. The Heartbreaker son himself jumped at the highest international level under Jessica Kürten and achieved podium finishes in international Grands Prix and victories in various international classes, among other things. Harley is known for his fantastic jumping technique, quick reflexes, excellent attitude, and great power. His dam Larthago also produced multiple approved stallions and international showjumpers. Thanks to his strong breeding qualities, Harley VDL was declared Preferent.

The third generation is formed by Burggraaf, one of the most proven Dutch showjumping sires. This son of Landgraf I × Cor de la Bryère jumped internationally himself and subsequently produced an impressive number of international showjumpers, approved stallions, and successful broodmares. His well-known offspring include World Cup winners and Grand Prix horses. Burggraaf is known for passing on power, good movements, character, and sport aptitude and was declared Preferent at a relatively young age.

The direct dam line of Vendetta of OakHill also offers additional sporting perspective. Elise S jumped at 1.30 m-niveau herself and is a full sister of the internationally successful Charly Chaplin S. Charly Chaplin S formed a successful combination on the international circuit with top Irish rider Darragh Kenny, with performances at five-star level and in the Global Champions Tour.

Vendetta of OakHill thus brings together a particularly interesting collection of sport genes: the proven top sport of Caracas, the technique and reflexes of Harley VDL, and the strong breeding of Burggraaf, supplemented by a dam line that has also jumped at a high level itself.
