Honest, young Friesian with presence, quality and an honest character

Due to overstock, we are looking for a suitable new home for our beautiful, sweet and home-bred Friesian gelding Tjilke.

Tjilke is a 4-year-old gelding with a lot of breed type, an honest character and a great attitude. He possesses all the qualities to mature into a lovely sport or leisure horse.

He was backed in September 2025 and is currently being ridden about three times a week. Despite his young age, he is extremely well-behaved under saddle: he does not rear, buck or bolt. However, we are looking for a rider with some experience for him, so that he can be further trained correctly and develop to his full potential.

Tjilke enjoys working, is affectionate and has a pleasant work ethic. He has no stable vices, is well-behaved at the farrier and loads easily onto the trailer. In daily handling, he is a joy to work with. He stands quietly while groomed, is friendly towards people and gets along well with other horses.

Under saddle, he displays three correct basic paces and shows a good attitude. We see a lot of potential in him for sport, leisure or further training.

Tjilke is currently being trained further and is now ready for his first dressage competition. He also enjoys going on trail rides. We wish him a place where his talents can be developed and where he gets every opportunity to grow.

He had a full X-ray pre-purchase exam at 2.5 years of age and was approved.
